Ulanguzi Creative Strategies Joins The Fight to Strike Out ALS

Ulanguzi commits to Gold Sponsorship and participates in Catfish Classic for the fourth consecutive year.

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 10, 2009) - Ulanguzi Creative Strategies served as one of only two Gold Sponsors of the 2009 ALS Catfish Classic, a golf tournament that benefits research for ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease). Held each year at the TPC Wakefield Plantation, the Classic is an annual event  run by the ALS Association Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter of North Carolina named after the North Carolina-born New York Yankees player.  He suffered and died from ALS, a debilitating illness without a cure affecting an estimated 30,000 Americans.

Ulanguzi also participated in the tournament with a team made up of employees and friends of the agency, and Ulanguzi's Kenneth Penkowski assisted the event committee through the early planning and during the event.

"We are proud to have the opportunity to support such a quality organization full of dedicated individuals focused on helping those afflicted with ALS. They work to ensure that future generations will not need to battle this terrible disease," stated Kenneth.

"Those affected by ALS and those engaged in the search for a cure need our support, regardless of the economic climate," remarked Event Committee Chairman Wes Hare. "We deeply appreciate Ulanguzi and all of our sponsors this year for helping us continue the fight to strike out ALS."

ABOUT ALS ASSOCIATION NORTH CAROLINA CHAPTER

In August of 2002, the Carolinas Chapter was renamed the Jim Catfish Hunter Chapter to honor a North Carolina hero and to bring further recognition to our cause. The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. ALSA covers all the bases  research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy  in providing help and hope to those facing the disease.
